Cheap, delicious vegan food

The Kebele cafe has been providing affordable, delicious food to the local community since 1995. We believe in providing a space for people to get together and share food in a non-commercial environment. The café is run entirely by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis.

We believe in minimising our impact on the environment, so we try where possible to use donations of leftover fruit and vegetables from local retailers. We support other co-operatives and buy most of our dried produce from the Essential Foods co-op and local independent shops. We aim to buy and use organic ingredients where we can.

The Kebele cafe is entirely run by volunteers and we're always looking for new people to get involved. Helping out at the Cafe is a great way of meeting new people, learning more about vegan cooking and sharing in life at Kebele. If you would like to volunteer to cook, email us, come along and put your name down on the rota, or drop by from 3pm on any Sunday to help with chopping veg!

The Kebele Cafe also provides catering for local community events. If you would like to know more, email us.

Opening Hours
Saturday brunch 11am-2pm
Suggested donation of £2.50 for brunch, and 50p for drinks.
Vegan brunch cooked by volunteers using locally sourced, usually organic, ingredients. Come and kickstart your weekend in a relaxed atmosphere, with food for thought and for tummies too!
Sunday 6:30-9pm
Suggested donation of £2 for dinner, £1 for pudding and 50p for drinks.
The Kebele Cafe serves a single dish (rather than a menu). Get there early to be guaranteed a meal - sometimes we get very busy and, as it's usually delicious, it can go pretty quickly!

At the moment, we open every Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening, but we would like to open more often. Ideas being discussed are: opening for breakfast on a Sunday morning; and on a weekday evening, possibly for a fund-raising benefit evening and film night. If you are involved in any campaign and would like to raise some funds by running a café at Kebele, email us at kebelesocialcentre@riseup.net
